What is Spirituality?

by Vish Writer on November 2, 2008

A question very often asked is “What is Spirituality” ? What are its benefits? Why should I attempt to be spiritual?

This is quite a lengthy discussion in itself but today I want to shed some light on this very important word called “Spirituality” which has been very loosely used over the past decade or so….

The ability to clearly express each of your thought into words, actions or feelings such that every being who feels the need for a similar thought is drawn towards you in such a manner that from that moment on he/she can clearly read your thoughts and be convinced about your integrity as if the same thought first occurred in his/her own mind.

This happens because the barrier between the intellect and heart no longer exists in his/her mind. Your words and actions have done the seemingly impossible task of cutting through the layers of intelligence of the opposite person. He/she has developed this uncanny ability to now watch your thoughts as clearly as they can see your body….

When this happens you can be sure that you are building your spirit and you are on your way to ultimate glory…..

Spirituality is nothing but merging of the subtle with the gross. The highest thoughts in you have to perfectly align with your lowest actions and most simplest of words in you… This is what is called Spirituality in Earth Life…………and the greatest benefit of spirituality is it has the power to replace doubt with trust….

If you notice carefully the No 1 factor, which is responsible for the slow growth of any individual, is ‘Doubt’. We doubt our own abilities, our own thoughts our own actions. In doing so we also doubt the thoughts and actions of every other person whom we come in contact with… and so our individual progress and the progress as a group becomes sluggish….

The only thing, which can replace Doubt, is Trust….
And the question then arises how do we build Trust?

And before we attempt to answer the question as to “How do we build trust, we have to define Doubt…

If I am interacting with someone I am able to see his/her body language but I cannot read his/her thoughts. This is what creates doubt in me… I cannot read his/her thoughts as clearly as I am able to see his/her body actions and so I attempt to stay away from most of the people because I am not clear of his/her intentions….

And this is where Spirituality becomes so very important…. If you build your spirit with the intention of making your thoughts as transparent as your actions and words you create an energy field within the universe where all those beings who feel the need for a similar thought are drawn towards you without any effort on your part…… They are able to read your thoughts as clearly as they are able to see your body…. There is total trust between the other person and you and in this situation both of you benefit because there is really nothing to hold you back…. And the best part of this whole thing is the person who came in contact with you has now experienced in first hand the power of spirituality and he/she seeks to carry and spread this marvelous power to every other being they come in contact with.. and the whole universe is benefited….

There is no other power which can bring about rapid changes within you and that of the world other than spirituality….. It is so powerful and we will discuss a lot of these things inside the very exclusive membership area as we move on…..

As of now would love to hear back from you…..

Vish

P.S. Spirituality is about You and only You and this is the reason it becomes simple…. If you bring any other aspect into play it becomes complex….

Amazingly ’simple’ clarity for such a complex environment. Spirituality has taken on a whole new meaning for me that has for a lifetime been clouded in obscure interpretations of religion and peace of mind.

Thank you John and Vish for removing the veil of confusion.

My own efforts to go “Beyond Consciousness” have accelerated this process of ‘new’ enlightenment and understanding.

Clarity in our complex world is closer at hand than we know consciously. As a gift to your readers and followers please visit the following to release and relieve the stress of everyday life.

I think all of us need to Trust, fist in God that means trusting in ourselves and at the second step, trusting other people. this is the most important factor in our lives because many problems that we encounter is because of “Doubt”. Fear comes when there is no Trust, as you mentioned in your book Vish. I
I think this can help us to make a new world, a one in which we can be more happy, we can have the real JOY, we can love each other more deeply and never think about Fear.
Thank you for helping me in finding myself.

“…Make your thoughts as transparent as your actions.”

This is BRILLIANT!!! Congruity in thoughts, words, deeds… I really appreciate this article and the practicality you have presented. Bringing heaven and earth together, “As Above, So Below.” It’s time to recognize the unity of mind-body-spirit and apply it.

I look forward to more information through this membership. You are performing a great service.
Blessings,
Marge

Dear John and Vish,

I am so grateful and appreciative of this new venture you have embarked on. John, you are a kind, generous spirit who I have found “walks his talk” and is truly here to serve. I am grateful you entered into my field of awareness. I look forward to learning more about Vish.

I am unable to view the video’s. For some reason my computer will only show some of the YouTube video’s and not others. The ones I cannot see say they are loading but they never start. Hopefully that will change soon.

I enjoyed the article. I am not sure the difference between doubt and fear, I think they both keep me from manifesting the life I choose. The Course in Miracles states that something is either love or fear, the two cannot exist in the same space. Therefore I think our energy gets blocked by fear and we project that on to others and that keeps us from seeing the “god” within each other.
John, you once told me that many of my challenges are issues I brought over from past ….I am working on clearing any limiting beliefs. As Vish says if we are in Trust, we can then resonate with others who are in alignment with the vision we are creating.

Thank you
angel

Spirituality is a oneness, a wholeness, a balance that comes about through awareness of spirit and the universe. Awareness, being present, in the moment.

When I worry about running late or get caught up in worrying about money, I just remember that time as we know it, only exists here on the earth.

Being spiritual is trusting that everything is perfect exactly as it is.

Spirituality is simple, but sometimes because of the human nature, it might take a bit of a journey to discover this. Humans do like to complicate things. But if we stay aware of our spirit we are on the right track.

i read it again and wrote it in my book, i feel one of my blocks is cleared ,the moment the doubt and fear gets into my thought bcause of the past conditioning, the energy is totally blocked, so the results are negative and it continues to be negative with a chain reaction ,ultimately the doubt becomes a habit ,so the failures are more ,the belief in success wanes, this definition if it is applied as law of universe we can conect to anybody who has the same transparent thought we can put our idea in any field may be personal, spritual, business, relationship, into a success, beacuse the conection happens in trust, the approach is entirely holisitc because of understanding and tranparency of thoughts, great vish and harricharan very creative definition easily implemented ,anyone can enjoy the fruits of this spirutuality,no foramlity,no pressure,no force,no manipulation,no selfishness, lots of harmony is created
thank u thank u

Vish,
Wonderful article! Would you elaborate more on the how of the following: “If you build your spirit with the intention of making your thoughts as transparent as your actions and words you create an energy field within the universe where all those beings who feel the need for a similar thought are drawn towards you without any effort on your part.”
How do we build our spirit with this intention? thanks, Niki

I am in search of a closer-knit spirituality…have been so soured by organised religion for so long. I know what is in my heart and I long for it to grow even stronger.
When we doubt our own abilities to succeed at anything, we completely justify the sabotage we feel…we are trained from birth in this. Our relationships with friends, spouses, God…all are victim to it. Some days, as i awaken, i have this calm come over me..and my day goes so smoothly (it is contagious) I am aware of the one-ness with my God. My soul feels truly in His Hands…palpible. In my belief and faith of Him, I trust God for much. Fears i can erase….with His help.
Other days…I feel the negatives/pessimisms trying to invade. I am learning more from all of it.
Yes, spirituality is unconditional love. Even my dog understands that.

I am grateful for your emails and postings on this day. I recently have been struggling with spirtuality, is it catholic, jewish, christian, etc….having recently gone through a journey with regard to someone very dear to me leaving our earthly world and going into the spirtual world –to live with our maker. I have been dazed and confused. I really am grateful to have opened up your email and listen to your postings. I am inspired to find unconditional love and build my future tomorrows from that platform. I look forward to today and now tomorrows….Thank you!

Hi John & Vish,,

Wonderful synchronicity that I received your email, and am now part of this community with all you wonderful spiritual beings. I first became acquainted with you, John, through your work with Kacper on “Dancing With The Universe”. It was my first introduction to the Power Pause which I find so very helpful.

Spirituality to me is living as fully as I am conscious of being and doing each moment, and appreciating all my wonderful teachers and lessons given. Since I work with children and families with challenges, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to serve and be served. Anger management, life skills, creatively helping parents deal with defiance, all allow me to see the beauty of each person within struggling to release their Divinity. The most outrageous child is merely acting out unconsciously the frustration of not being heard and understood. Honoring their values and strengths gives them space to BE themselves.

I am very grateful to be here, look forward to future videos and sharing, and embracing the sacredness of each moment as much as I can. And doing all this with a smile and lighhearted grace.

In Peace and Love within the Light,

Joseph William

I really like the comments John william said about people struggling to release their divinty. I stuggle all the time with it!

It is so wonderful to find others that think spiritual evolution is important. John and Vish thank you for your guidance.:-)

From what I understand of the fall in the Garden of Eden, it is the story of how we lost the ability to see each other without veils and how we lost the trust. Oh! to become transparent again to each other… Animals see us as we are, without veils and they know to trust or not.

Dearest John and Vish,

I believe that it is not by accident that we have been brought together. I have now for many years been searching for the truth. I have read many books and articles on faith and even studied passd a certificate course in Spirituality. You have however made it so simple to understand.
I look forward to walking this path with you.
May the blessings be.

Any one can speak of spiritual things, it is not until one comes face to face with the Lord Jesus, that we become spiritual. It is a learning process. For It is He that gives us the power to do the impossible, no matter what it is. So If one does not know Him, how can we say were spiritual. People make knowing their savior difficult. God the Father is whatever you need at the moment, He is Agape Love.

I am ! Greatful for the words your article has put out there for all of us to feel and intagrate into our awarness ! To try to discribe the process of ever expanding awarness to enlightenment of oneness from our feelings of seperation from god, source or universe. Spirituality !
I look to take a deeper look at how honest I am with myself and the integrety of my intensions !
I am ! Deeply touched by the responces and desire to grow spiritually !Good to feel ! When one of us moves forward it effects others around us !

Thank you, John and Vish

Hi John and Vish,

I am sorry but I must disagree with your definition in part as it makes it more complex than it really is. As your video indicates, we came to this earth as children of the creator, co-creators with Him as the video points out. Spirituality is simply our efforts, aided by the spirit or Holy Ghost, to align our thoughts, purposes and actions with those of the creator. Your statement that “our highest thoughts must align with our basest action” would indicate to me that even if we travel the wrong direction and become a “base” type of person we are still spiritual, which I cannot accept. Only as we change our base actions to align with our higher thoughts which must align with those of the creator will we enter the realm of spirituality. Our purpose here is to “become Like” the creator. The closer we are aligned with Him, the more active the spirit can be in us and the greater faith we have in Him. If our thoughts are congruent with those the Creator, then when our actions and words are congruent with our thoughts, others will come to have faith in us. Understand, we are in the process of becoming, so there is no perfect alignment, either our thoughts to those of the Creator or our actions to our thoughts but that is the goal we work toward.

Thank you for stimulating some thought though. Interesting!
Ken

WOW! that was great so simple and straight-to-the-point. How i wish we could have these videos on MPEG so we could all listen to it even off-the-Internet, or even copy it to an ipod and listen to it over and over and over again.

You were asking about spirituality.

First let us make clear the three parts to our being as stated in Genesis.
YHWH(God) took earth , breathed in his Spirit and created a soul.

It was the intimate spirit relation with YHWH that died with Adam and Eve; we have through our works tried fruitlessly to re-establish this innate need.

To be spiritual means to obey the book of the law while looking after the weak, the homeless, the widow. In other words support each other.

Thus over time YHWH’s spiritit transforms or recreates us into new spiritual beings.

Fawzia 11.09.08 at 4:14 pm

Thank you for your explanation. It makes perfect sense.
To me spirituality is the spirit or animating force within all of us.It is unique in each individual,Yet comes from the same energy source.
Spirituality is also the spirit or driving force in nature, in organisations, in beliefs, in thoughts—in everything.
Spirituality is not ego based, and gets submerged in ego and competitiveness, and in I____YOU transactions.
Spirituality is universal but looses its power when judgements are made.
Spirituality is unconditional love

I love the piece on spirituality. I truly believe that making that connection between our mind, body and spirit allows us to make a connection with those around us. It is our responsibility to foster that connection.

I have found that by quiet reflection at the beginning of my day and actively fostering that positive connection, my whole day brings forth a positive energy and connection with those around me. Even when I am facing difficulties.

I think this is great. This is my first interaction in a course with you and am glad I made the decision to join.
